Fundraising Update
Saturday 12th September saw supporters of over 500 charities take to the street to raise money by walking, running, swimming or cycling the Virtual Kiltwalk. CREATE Paisley were no different with staff and supporters taking to the streets and raising money to support young people in Renfrewshire. The staff team took to the hills and roads to walk and hike throughout the day, with Project Manager Alan setting off at 4am to walk for an incredible 11 hours. Some of the amazing young people that attend CREATE also took on the challenge with Sophie and Gregor giving up their Saturday to walk from Blend Coffee Lounge in Paisley, home of the CREATE Cafe in normal times, to the Gleniffer Braes and back to support other young people.
`We’ve been going to Create since we were 11 and to give something back feels amazing. It was a great day and challenging… it was packed with great laughs and views.’
Gregor and Sophie raised a fantastic £371 which thanks to the generous support of the Hunter Foundation has been doubled. Added to all of the other fundraising means that we have raised an incredible £3500.
If the idea of taking on a physical challenge like Sophie and Gregor sounds a little out of your comfort zone then why not consider making a longer term commitment to helping Renfrewshire’s young people when they need it most by setting up a regular gift.
A donation of just £15 could pay for one hour of one to one support for a young person struggling with anxiety with a member of our youth work team. This time could give them the space to talk about how they feel and be heard by a supportive adult. Click on the image below to make a regular donation to CREATE via Give.Net.
