The Garden
A new community artwork, called ‘The Garden’, has gone on permanent display in Barshaw Park. It’s an amazing collaboration involving over 50 children, families and young people from local organisations.
Inspired by the question, ‘What do you want to see grow and thrive in your local community?’, young people had the idea to design four log planters, installed in the community garden at Barshaw Park. Each log planter is decorated with ideas from the groups taking part, and reflects their hopes and concerns – such as wanting to see more money, bees, friendship, poems on bus-stops, common sense and kindness grow in Paisley
The project was developed through a series of community workshops throughout the year, and was launched on Saturday 5th September, as part of the Doors Open Days weekend.
It was made possible through funding from Creative Scotland’s Open Fund for Organisations, and support from the Friends of Barshaw Park. Thank you to everyone involved!
