Established in 2009, CREATE Paisley is an innovative youth project at the heart of Renfrewshire (Paisley) which seeks to see young people transformed through creativity, community, confidence and finding their voice.
Create Paisley is founded upon a Christian ethos. The events and activities which Create run, are not evangelistic, but are underpinned by a Christian ethos and values; creativity, community, confidence and voice.
CREATE has worked with thousands of young people over the last 11 years, providing safe, creative spaces and opportunities for young people through youth drop ins, open mic nights, creative arts workshops, youth forums, youth volunteering and supporting young people to make a difference.
As a result of a recent review, CREATE has established subcommittees to support the organisational development. The newly formed Policy Subcommittee will be responsible for making decisions about developing and approving policies in line with the organisational strategy, values and ethos.
We currently have an exciting opportunity to recruit members to join the subcommittee. The current skills we have identified a need for are:
- Human Resources and Employment Law
- Volunteer Management
- GDPR and data protection
The subcommittee meets quarterly, usually on a Wednesday evening. Subcommittee members are expected to spend around 2 hours per month in their role at meetings and prep-work etc. Our current vacancies are key to the future development and ambitions of CREATE.
Please note this is a voluntary position; however, reasonable expenses will be reimbursed. If you have the skills, experience and enthusiasm to contribute to governing and developing CREATE, or if you have any questions related to this advert, please contact Claire Stevenson.
Applications should take the form of an up to date CV and completion of our volunteer application including setting out your relevant skills and experiences, and why you are keen to be considered for the role as Trustee of CREATE Paisley.
